Although not necessarily related to medicine, the book described common biases and heuristics that humans use and the errors they cause. Being mindful of these biases certainly helps in daily life but definitely with the approach to medicine.

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi, MD
A wonderfully written memoir by a neurosurgeon dealing with metastatic lung cancer. Truly a must read.

My Grandfather’s Blessings by Rachel Naomi Remen, MD
A collection of stories from a great storyteller and cancer physician, focusing on the power of kindness and the joy of living.
